The store was really slow today, so even though there were only four people working front end, I ended up in pharmacy. I get paid a little more for the extra responsibly but I wouldn’t want a permanent position there. Stock work and helping customers find things is rewarding and regulating for me. I am less enthusiastic about standing at register for hours. And pharmacy is not regulating at all. There is always a “fire” to put out in pharmacy. When I was training to help out I would sometimes take a moment to breathe. Invariably I would be taught one more thing that needed to be done between breaths. But Walgreens is still a good job and I make a little more money as a pharmacy customer service associate. At least I’m needed.
