My wife asked for wall art. She wanted me to design her a medium sized canvas with a Celtic trefoil (sorry we don’t know the real name) on it. She handed me a tiny little earring in the required shape. I spend about an hour on a pastoral evening background and about an hour on the actual symbol. It turned out okay in my opinion. I’m not good at hand drawing circles or spherical symmetry. She loved it anyway. It was late when I was done so I went to sleep without ordering a physical copy. As sometimes happens I woke up way too early for my own good. I opened the Walgreens app to order a canvas of my work for her. The canvas needed blank space on the edge so I adjusted the image several times to make it appear properly as a finished product. Then I looked at the price and thought “Yikes!” So I cancelled the order and went to look at CafePress. I payed significantly less there and will get professional workmanship. Walgreens really needs to get out of the business of making wall art. They just aren’t competitive in any way, shape, or form. My wife’s commission is on the way. I’ll try to remember to post how it turns out.
