There’s a greeting that the antagonists use in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. When you try to enter their cave one of them says, “Dawn is breaking.” The you have to say, “Greet the new day.” Or maybe it’s the other way around it; it’s been a while since I’ve done that quest. It’s all very ominous. The dawn in question is the coming of an age when they will be masters and everyone else will be playthings of a demonic prince. Today for me the dawn is a much more mundane one. No assassinations or attempts at world domination. Just a little insomnia after too little sleep. That of course is bad enough most days. But I don’t have Walgreens today so maybe I can get a nap this afternoon and it won’t completely ruin my sleep cycle for tomorrows shift. At any rate things have gone smoothly so far. Social media, Steam and mobile games keep me busy. I even made a donut.
