I made a deal with my manager at Walgreens that I would work evenings and weekends in exchange for Thursdays (and usually Sundays) off. It has largely held through the three plus years I have been employed. The rationale is that I need one weekday completely free. Our family schedules appointments with doctors and therapists months in advance at times. We need the little bit of regularity in my week so we’re not scrambling at the last minute to change those. So it’s Thursday. Some Thursdays are jam packed. But some Thursdays I can just stay in my jammies because there isn’t a doctor or therapist to see and Walgreens knows I am off limits. Be weird and be awesome today, because you know I will.
