Most of the chairs in our house are a composite of multiple building materials. Fabric, and wood, and paper, and metal. But they are almost all bolted together with bolts about half as wide as my pinky finger. Those bolts get loose pretty quickly and as that creates wear and tear the speed they loosen increases. They are decent chairs but I spend a lot of time nowadays tightening those bolts so that they remain chairs. The sole exception is the chair in my room for my computer desk. It is solid metal.and wood. It has no frills and is about as comfortable as you might imagine. But it is also low maintenance. I like my beast of a chair more than any other in the house.
