The cat and I have a much more cordial relationship than I’ve had with any of the other pets that have come and gone in my life. She has been especially friendly and playful this week. She’ll jump in my lap and will sometimes stay long enough to let me pet her. She especially likes sitting in the chair next to mine in the den. She will swat and nip at me but doesn’t much care for me swatting back. I don’t however try to bite the cat. The closest I come to that is to touch the tip of my nose to the tip of hers when she lets me. That is more friendly and playful than I’ve ever been with a pet. She also likes to stand next to me and beg, but I don’t speak “meow” so I don’t have much of a guess what she wants. Still we take good care of her and our relationship seems healthy to me. Our cat is awesome.
