How would you design the city of the future?
I went to the University of Milwaukee. It’s built straight up. The whole campus is about 8 city blocks. There was enough commerce in the area to entertain a host of college kids. I don’t need a whole city to be that tight but it would be nice if I could walk to my job again.

Yes. I miss walking. There are aspects of car culture that are good. But it really futures the whole life of the community.
There needs to be lots of little mom and pop shops everywhere. All the basics should be within a thirty minute walk. Good should be within a ten minute walk. Pharmacies should be with a thirty minute walk max.

Janesville was a GM Town for almost a century. Cars were the lifeblood. They meant good jobs and freedom. The city is just waking up from that and Main St. is almost back to being Main St. again.
