When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?
My father is an Episcopal minister. He would occasionally take me over to the church when I was 7 or 8 to give my mom a break from my scripting. Sometimes I would listen to the stories of the choir director or get little tips about my singing from him. At some point I went to a Thursday Evening Liturgy. It was all adults except for me and they were all very impressed with how well I behaved. My father started making a point of working Thursday nights so I could attend. They let me play a gong. I put my favorite plastic spider in the offering plate. And all the adults would tell me how very grown up I was. I don’t have faith in Liturgies anymore but I have fond memories of pretending to be an adult on those Thursday Evenings so very long ago.

You do not have very fond memories of giving up your spider, though.

I’ve made a couple of very salty posts about that spider and will do it again. LoL
