Judgemental

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I am an intelligent and polite person. It covers a lot of my other sins. For instance I think the world is full of people that are stupid, rude, or both. I am one of the most judgmental people you will probably never meet. People don’t see it because it’s under soft safe words. I sometimes tell people how judgmental I am and they don’t believe me. I’m also very theatrical much of the time that I am dealing with people especially strangers. I have an internal struggle with imposter syndrome because the person that people perceive that I am does not match the person that exists only in my head. Yes I’m awesome but remember that comes with a lot of judgement and theater.

  2. Are you really judgmental, i.e. excessively critical? Or are you discerning, i.e. exercising good judgment?

  3. Is it wisdom not just an imposter of it? I will likely struggle with that question my whole life. I want ‘a little authority as I suppose,’ and sometimes that feels spiritually dangerous.

    1. There are times when you are, in my opinion, excessively critical, especially with regard to how you speak to our children. In this sense, you do tend to judge others based on how you would react in a situation instead of trying to empathize with how they are experiencing their situation.

On the other hand, you are a highly intelligent, fastidiously polite person. Most people are, objectively speaking, stupider and ruder than you are. While I consider calling people stupid to be rude, especially considering that most people who do so do not differentiate between lack of intelligence and failing to use one’s intelligence, thinking that someone is objectively stupider than you are is not in fact rude. It is only judgmental if it is 1) not true and/or 2) not relevant.
