Latter Day Sinner

Today has gone smoothly so far but I’ve already had too much sugar and caffeine. That did not stop me from letting my wife order a cold brew horchata for me. I have never read the exegesis about Doctrine & Covenants 89:9 which specifically forbids “hot drinks.” I’m not really inclined to do so. That said I don’t have as much internal conflict over coffee that I do over alcohol. And the only spiritual reason I avoided THC for as long as I did was “obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law” (LDS 12th Article of Faith). But beer makes me feel especially unworthy. My wife might get me more of that this evening too. She had exactly zero investment in D&C 89.
