I was not getting any return on my investment for my art from my Facebook pages or Twitter. I have deactivated all of them. If you are one of the very few people who even knew where they were on the Internet you can still find me here on WordPress. There are live links on my Homepage that access the few places I am selling my work. I will not be using this platform to do so beyond those and an occasional mention that my art is available.

We should still find a more proactive way to market your art.

Absolutely. Facebook and Twitter wasted a lot of energy that needs to be put to use elsewhere.
