Five Strengths

Share five things you’re good at.

I am a decent parent. I’m sometimes a little rough on my kids emotionally. I’m not a boys don’t cry type, but I also worry about them when they cry over little things. I have always tried to be available and supportive. My own parents are some of the most amazing people one could hope to meet. I’m a decent parent but I still struggle to live up to their example.

I am a classically trained singer. As a child I had private voice coaches and in highschool I won awards at the state level for my vocal talent. In college I was given an audition to sing in the campus choirs. The director handed me a piece of sheet music and told me to sight sing it. I told him I didn’t know how to do that. He put me in the second tier choir. Of all my regrets not trying in that moment is one of my biggest. But I still sing. I have a YouTube channel (markezuma) and I sing in church to practice my sight singing. So I’m still a decent singer.

I excel much to my dismay at customer service. I will listen to people to find them what they need. I can and sometimes do go the extra mile for a bigger sale. I am also good at letting people know that I can’t help them. Whether it’s “I’m not allowed to give medical advice,” “Our store doesn’t do that,” or “Please lower your voice sir so you can help me help you.” And I’ve even occasionally been told, “I’m never shopping here again” and been able to fix the problem and create good will. So yeah, number three is customer service.

I am decent with technology as well to a point. I’m good at set up. I can install basic hardware and software. I can trouble shoot when the system has some degree of user friendliness. I also have a knack for finding and turning on security features though sometimes that creates problems down the line. When I don’t know how to make technology work I can explain the problem and follow directions with relative ease to solve it. Four is technology.

I am getting better at my digital art. I probably still could use some classes. But my self training has produced a very unique still. I want to get better at it and I think with continued practice i can and will.
