Latter Day Sinner

I had a conversation with an old friend where she tried to convince me that the only thing that makes the world work is love and that my admissions of selfness would leave me fruitless. I disagree fundamentally that humans are naturally loving and good. I think that selfishness is our defining feature. Yes humans cooperate to do amazing things. But really that is mostly just being selfish at a tribal level. The tribes that are best at being selfish become bigger tribes. I don’t have much power in the world. The Tribe of Mark isn’t very good at being selfish or even really being a tribe at all. Perhaps we can change that.
