It is snowing today. I am about a third of the way done shoveling. And I made art about snow. Don’t let the simplicity fool you though. This is a statement on society. You see I wish for this art to immediately enter public domain, but in order to share it I am reliant of the several forms of social media that gets it from me to you. Facebook for instance requires me to wave all intellectual property rights when I log in. Their service is free to me which means the content I upload their product. As much as I would like to give this piece to the world, now that I have shared it on Facebook, I can not to anything to prevent them from monetizing it except take it back down. I agree to let them monetize it without giving me any sort of compensation by leaving it on their website. I have also posted this on Patreon as visible to everyone. Sadly I find that only Patreon users have any chance of seeing my art because a link to it brings the curious to a log in page not my actual work. It also doesn’t seem to reward small creators with any help towards visibility. At least they don’t expect me to wave my rights to use their platform. Finally I am posting it here. WordPress is also good in allowing my to retain ownership and probably a good place to wave it, sadly the site prioritizes daily prompts so much that almost no one sees my other posts. Still if this image inspires you to make society a better, freer, more creative place you are welcome to it.
