If you could un-invent something, what would it be?
Of all the inventions humans have even made I think I would most like to “uninvent” crucifixion. More generally I’d like to get rid of cruel and unusual punishment, but I’d start with crosses. The world would be a remarkably better place if people were never tortured to death. It would also be better if no one ever glorified the cross.
