On Saturday morning I left for Indiana with my son to spend time with my granddaughter on her birthday. It was a two and a half hour car ride. About an hour into it I complained to him that my right leg was getting sore and stiff from sitting so long. He asked about my left leg and I responded, “Death is asymmetrical.” The party was awesome. That little girl is surrounded by a lot of love. We ate, we played games, she opened presents, and she jumped in a bounce house with a small cadre of girls her age. I got tired before she did so my son and I went back to the hotel. I took my pills but couldn’t wind down. Several hours later I realized I still needed to break my fast and after I did that I quickly fell asleep. In the morning we went back to her house for breakfast and spent some family time with her. My son set up a Hot Wheels garage he bought for her and the two of them played with that for an hour. But all good things must come to an end and we said our goodbyes and headed home. The trip was successful and safe. I got into pajamas right away when I got home. After a few hours of decompressing I took my pills, a shower, and went to bed. I slept for 16 hours waking up only to change a single diaper. It was a good trip.
