Latter Day Sinner

I’m moderately active in my local Latter Day Saint ward. I hold a calling as the Elders Quorum Secretary. Tonight there was a leadership meeting on Zoom. I tried to stay focused but most of the topics were out of the range that I can actually take action to do. I’m lax on my covenants and not ready to make more. There was talk about the power of the priesthood flowing from those covenants. There was also a whole lot of talk about what the Church handbooks say about the proper administration of that power. I am motivated by the Book of Mormon but not the corporate church or its handbooks. I love the local ward members. I’m friends with some of the people in that meeting. But I think the Church is losing something very essential by focusing on internal memos. I don’t even want to be more active right now.
