Latter Day Sinner

I was a teenager in the 80s. It was the Cold War and the Arms Race. We were sold on the fear that the human race was half an hour from extinction. The nuclear warheads were aimed directly at me and Ronald Reagan was the only one that could stop them. Kids these days are sold different varieties of doom. Whether it’s climate change or COVID 19 it is still the same class of people terrorizing us to get just a little more power. I wonder if the youth of today will look back in thirty years and have the same assessment of Greta Thunberg and Anthony Fauci that I have about Ronald Reagan. The human race wasn’t destroyed back then, and I doubt will be from the new fear variants. Individuals learn but will our race ever stop predicting its imminent demise. Probably not.
