Latter Day Sinner

In high school my choir teacher was Mr. Loy. He was a big man with a big heart. He was good at his job both as a teacher and as a choir master. He was both funny and grumpy most of the time. He put up little signs on his keyboard facing the class. The two that I remember were, “Don’t tell me what kind of day to have” and “Sometimes the dragon wins.” He was the dragon. He retired the year I graduated and passed away soon after. Of all the things I miss about high school choir class is at the top of the list.
