Big Dreams

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I have always been a dreamer. It started when I was about five years old. I performed the second king from the orient in a Christmas musical that year. I was hooked. I’ve known since then that I want to be an artist. I did a lot more choir concerts, and plays and musicals as a child. I sang and won state competitions for solo singing in high school. The marijuana I smoked in my twenties changed my voice and made it much harder to memorize things, so I switched to physical art. I did drawing and colorings mostly in that era. And a lot of what in retrospect was very bad poetry. I did burnt wood plaques for a while. I made YouTube videos of singing and philosophizing. And for the past seven years I’ve done digital art. Some of it is pretty good and each new piece helps me practice to get better. I need to draw more markezuma. I’ve had several people suggest making him into a comic book. I will just keep dreaming and performing.
