Ultimate Rebellion

I’ve had 10mg of THC and I’m facing down the question: Am I a Mormon primarily to rebel against my dad? He’s an amazing guy but he takes money in exchange for his witness, When I met The Missionaries they preached the gospel for free. They even paid for the privilege to preach the gospel. That seems more noble than my fathers professional career. Professional clergy sell their witness. It’s the biggest fault I find with my dad and sometimes it feels petty. But I left his church and if I can’t justify that then it is ultimately just childish rebellion. Does God really prefer a priceless witness to a purchased one? Is the only step up from the Episcopal clergy an unpaid clergy? I got accused once of liking the Mormon brand but not believing any of it. My reverence for the local lay clergy is sincere. And it’s explanatory as well. My distrust for the General Authorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is because they are professional clergy. Russell M. Nelson seems like a great guy, but he spent his life convincing people to give a priceless witness only to become the head of an establishment that exploits that witness for money. I need to fast and pray when I come down.
