Do you have any collections?
I have a fair number of collectables. They range from political buttons to action figures of my favorite cartoons. But I don’t have big sets of those things. I have a foreign coin collection that I hardly ever take out. But my real collection is books. We have enough books in the house that I am comfortable calling them a library. And we buy more books than we read. I have a pile of about six books that I’ve started but not finished, but that doesn’t stop me from getting more. I have a pipe dream that one day I’m going to read all the books I’ve collected over the years. And then I get another book.

Alas, there will always be more books to read than either of us can read.

Imagine eternal progression where millions of authors progress by writing more books. And we can only read a tiny fraction of that celestial wisdom.
