Describe your most memorable vacation.
My family lived in Maryland for several years. We made friends there before we moved on because my dad took a reverend position here in Janesville. On one occasion my mother, my sister, and a foreign exchange student (who hadn’t been to Maryland) went for a trip to see the Atlantic Ocean and reconnect. There is a tradition that when a person travels to a new state the traveler buys a little souvenir spoon. They are (or maybe were) professionally crafted. I told the exchange student about the tradition but it was lost in translation. She started taking a regular spoon from every restaurant we visited along the way. I didn’t try to correct her because it was weird and I like weird. When my mom finally noticed the huge collection of regular spoons she made the student stop. We did make it to the ocean but I can’t forget those awesome spoons.

Especially now when they’re in such short supply.

Charge into battle yelling “Spoon!” It lowers your opponent’s initiative.
