If I were as committed to a harmonious world as I should be I should give up my ego. Sadly I am not so committed that I could give up my ego. There are people who take great joy in selfless service. I am not one of them. I serve my family in a fairly selfish way. Sometimes I can do that for good friends. But, I’m pretty transactional about my religion and philosophy. I would like to believe that the good I put out comes back to as good. If with a particular person it does not then I will quickly stop doing good to them. I don’t actively harm people but that does go very far for the sake of harmony.

I think you become more harmonious by becoming your self more completely and by wielding the power that is truly yours as passionately and as uniquely as only you can.

Power by its nature quickly becomes unrighteous dominion.

We you usurp the power of others, yes. Not if you wield the power that is rightfully yours.

That’s not what power is.

You have the power to create art. That power is rightfully yours. If you learn how to use that power well, you need not usurp other’s power to have power. They will be swayed by your example and your influence.

When the wise work by example pointing men’s feet to the path of their duty that is not personal power. It is discipline, and it has no power to compel others to discipline themselves. Power is the compulsion to discipline it is a master /student relationship.

I’m sorry that is the only power you recognize.
