I was banned from Facebook for only twelve hours. I have a theory as to why since they didn’t tell me what triggered either decision.
I have several strikes for inciting violence according to Facebook Community Standards. I made a post a couple of years ago comparing the January 6th Republican protests to the Wisconsin Democrat protests over the controversial signing of Act 10 into law. They both stormed a capitol building, but Facebook didn’t like the comparison and removed the post. That was Strike One. I made an impassioned defense of the Castle Doctrine in a liberty group I was running. Facebook didn’t like that I agree with the law that an intruder can be killed. They took that post down too and that was Strike Two. Yesterday I was typing about Donald Trump and wrote that, “He didn’t start WW3.” The last two words were almost certainly flagged by the algorithm. If the trigger had stood scrutiny that would have been Strike Three. Meta doesn’t like my politics an it’s only a matter of time before I post the wrong thing and get permanently banned.
