My mom makes the best meatloaf. It was a treat growing up so maybe it’s just the nostalgia. It’s got protein and grain. Today I added a little sour cream to increase the dairy. She makes it with milk so it already has some of that. She makes a meatloaf sauce with ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. I loved that combination growing up. But her meatloaf after years of experimentation does not really go with either vinegar (from the ketchup) or a lot of added sugar. The best part is that she’s still making it for me fifty years later.
