Humoring Trolls

I shouldn’t feed trolls on the internet. I shouldn’t give them the time of day. I shouldn’t humor them. But I’m also not afraid of anonymous accounts on the internet. People who hide behind fake names to bully and badger others are contemptible and sad. It’s my pity for the internet troll that makes it hard for me to just ignore him. People who hurt people are people that are generally speaking themselves hurting. And sadly I’m not particularly Christlike about the trolls. My first response is usually to laugh. That doesn’t deescalate the situation or prick whatever conscience the troll might have. Tonight isn’t the first and it won’t be the last.
