Stephanie and I have been arguing about what constitutes propaganda. She studied it in her Master’s Degree program but came to the conclusion that virtually all media is propaganda. I find that a very unsatisfying conclusion. If almost everything is propaganda then almost nothing is. It reminds me of climate science. People spend decades studying the nuances of climate and then proclaim to the layman that there is no nuance at all. It reinforces my sense that academia is a scam. That in much of it the sole purpose is to perpetuate the system. One giant ponzi scheme where the gatekeepers of knowledge claim to be the only ones with knowledge at all. If I only have access to propaganda and only some select few know reality then what are they selling. The LDS Church has a hidden reality it is selling and I don’t buy that. Why would I buy the one from climate science or my wife’s esteemed but long disused college education.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a vision. I could use another right about now.
