Latter Day Sinner

The USA is conducting the largest mass deportations in the country’s history. Children of illegal immigrants are being rounded up to be sent back “home.” Home is in quotes because many of them have never lived anywhere but the USA. And yet they are here illegally. There’s a political principle I picked up over the years that says I shouldn’t ask the government to do something I wouldn’t do myself. Would I kill someone except as a last resort? No. Should the government do it? Again No. Would I steal from my neighbor because they have more than I do? No. Should the government redistribute wealth? Again a solid No. Lets say a couple breaks into my house and has a baby on my kitchen floor. Will I end up cleaning up the mess? Probably. Do they get to live in my house now? No. Will I use force to remove them? Yes if they won’t leave voluntarily. Should the government do very much the same thing with people who come to this country illegally? Yes… a solid Yes. Sorry not sorry… still Yes.
