Latter Day Sinner

More than a hundred years ago Karl Marx famously said that “Religion is the opiate of the masses.” The world has moved on and people at least here in the United States can choose their religion or no religion at all. And yet we are still being sedated as a country and as a society. It is no longer religion that is doing it. Televisions and smart phones will tell us anything we want to hear as often as we want to hear it. We can sleep with the approval of our conscience no matter what the issue of the day is.
