Our autistic son Ben doesn’t know where we hide the soda. This is a good thing because he’ll drink a whole 12 pack in a few hours if he gets the chance. Then I have to clean up the puke. So the soda is hidden. We’ve been telling him that the soda fairy brings him individual cans. we’ve said soda fairy enough times that he’s repeating it to request another soda. Words have power so if we’ve got soda the soda fairy will bring one to him.

We hide food in our house, too! Sometimes I tell my kids they have to hide their junk food from me. If I find it I’ll throw it away.
