I have trouble admitting I’m wrong. My solution to that is often not to take a position at all. “Both sides make good points.” But I’m coming to the conclusion that not taking a position might be more wrong than taking the wrong position. At least with the latter there is hope for correction. As Rush put it choosing not to decide is still a choice. I am starting to think it is the worst choice. I am starting to pray for more discernment and less tolerance. Tolerating evil is in itself evil.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by “tolerating evil”. Tolerating evil has to be balanced with the likelihood of reducing the evil through our action. Some things are evil, but we cannot fix them completely or at all. Sometimes action will make it worse.

We need to do what is right and let the consequences follow. I believe there are only two paths to peace. Victory and surrender. The traditional Christian chooses surrender far too often to my liking. Evil should be fought. We start by fighting our own evil inclinations, but we can’t turn ourselves so far inward that we let the world go to crap around us because we are afraid to act.
