Laundry not Church

My ride to church cancelled last night. I usually take that as a sign from God that I’m needed more at home for the day. I would have liked to have slept in but my youngest wanted a bath in the wee hours of the morning. So I got up and put him in the tub. Then I had another Rx Energy because I can’t just go back to sleep while he’s bathing. He stayed in for about half an hour, so I gamed on Steam and posted some memes on Facebook. I’m still in my jammies and on my phone. But there’s always work to do. Today it’s laundry. I have six pairs of black Dickie slacks and I have worn all of them since the last time I washed my clothes. It’s a big pile. The house is pretty quiet except for a few squeals from my youngest. I’m going to try to relax because technically Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. Church isn’t restful, neither are baths or laundry. Doodling on my phone can be, but games and memes just kill time. I contemplate how often I am in the thick of thin things. There’s too much to do to really rest and all of it has eternal consequences.
