Black Friday 24

The next commercial holiday in the USA is Christmas. The annual buying spree begins with Black Friday. People trample each other for sales on new stuff the day after claiming to be grateful for the stuff they already have. There’s a method to the marketing though. It is in the best interest of retail to empty its shelves before the year turns over. Extra inventory is problematic, so they make their problem into our problem. There is a lot of Mammon in the American Christmas season and some of the most vocal opponents of it still participate in the commercial madness. If you are going to the store and angry that the cashier isn’t saying Merry Christmas… Frankly you are still going to the store. It’s a superficial national holiday and is only becoming more so. Remember you can save 100% today by not shopping at all.
