Chattel Slavery is illegal in the USA. Stephanie and I are arguing whether it persists and is federally sanctioned. I believe most of the actual slavery is a matter of criminal cartels. Federal law enforcement can throw all its resources in that direction and still end up losing to organized crime. Stephanie believes that the laws aren’t being enforced. I believe the laws are being enforced as best they can against an evil and intelligent enemy.

I agree there is an evil and intelligent enemy. I believe that enemy has been running our government for 200 odd years.

Chattel slavery’s illegal, no debate there. What still happens is trafficking run by criminal groups. Cops are fighting it, but criminals adapt fast. It’s not lack of enforcement, it’s just bad people breaking the law like they always do.
