I grew up with situational comedies on television. Sit Coms usually ran on the premise that someone heard something out of context and the person they heard couldn’t properly correct the misunderstanding until the end of the 22 minute show. But there was a secondary shtick where something bad happened and was being investigated. Then the show would present each person’s version of the event. The character telling the story was always the innocent hero and by the end the investigator made an objective assessment of what really happened. There is no objective investigator in my life only innocent heroes. And unlike Sit Coms where they wrapped the story up in 22 minutes, real life stories sometimes won’t ever be resolved.

I’ve never watched a Sit Com where an innocent hero spat on and pushed another person.

There was yelling occasionally. People got bumped once in a while and accused the other person of pushing. It was all for comedic effect though. Fiction.

You demanded I stop using the word genocide, demanded a divorce, spat in my face and pushed me into the fridge. You’re denial that you attacked me is absurd. You’re denial that physically assaulting your wife is abuse is absurd. Absurdism is comedic when it is intentional on the part of the storyteller, but not when it is self-justification to avoid accountability.

I certainly admit to yelling “Shut Up!” in your face. I also admit that I repeated “divorce” when you said it to me. I am starting to see the logic that our marriage was dissolved before God in that moment. The law is on your side about the divorce. I don’t think it is when you claim serial abuse. I will not touch you again for the rest of my life if that is the only way I can repent of the sins to which you are accusing me. That should satisfy the law even if it doesn’t satisfy you.

What satisfies the law is up to the judge. What satisfies God is up to God. You have already declared what I need to be satisfied with you to be impossible.

Yes, never objectifying or dehumanizing another human being is impossible. Sometimes you are just a driver and I can hire those.

And that’s why you have made reconciliation impossible. People only exist to serve your comfort and convenience.

People exist on their own for their own selfish choices. Pride, ignorance, and selfishness are the hallmarks of human nature. Perhaps the spiritual man will take me over someday, but it seems unlikely today.
