Productive Saturday

Today has been a good day. Stephanie took the boys out so that I could have some time to myself. I got some laundry done. I took a shower. I listened to my vinyl of Simon and Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits. I listened to my 18 minute subliminal concentration program. My daily habits are done except for sending this blog post and creating something that I can at least marginally describe as art. I witnessed to Stephanie on her way out that the only man who will never objectify or dehumanize her is Jesus Christ. She responded that I should pluck out my eyes. That brought back memories of Christian summer camp and a movie about a man with x-ray vision. He goes crazy because of said vision and in the end he finds himself in a revival tent with the preaching about plucking one’s eyes out. The whole tent knows that his eyes are causing him to sin and they all start yelling “Pluck ’em out! Pluck ’em out!” so he does. That was the end of the movie. For the rest of the week I would put sliced cheese between my eyes and my glasses and run around yelling “Pluck ’em out! Pluck ’em out!” Good times.

  1. I did not tell you to do so. I said that was Jesus’s answer to men who objectify women. It was His rebuttal to your claim of incompetence.

    1. Nah, he wants me to admit my need for him and you can frame it as incompetence if you’d like.

      1. Your claim that you cannot not objectify women is a claim of incompetence. You throw up your hands and declare yourself incapable of being a husband because you are only capable of owning property.

      3. You tried to own me. That’s why I am divorcing you.

      4. Just so long as you aren’t claiming I’m “putting you away.” It’s a very different world than the one where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. But this seems like it will quickly turn into another argument about slavery, so I will bid thee anon til morn.
