Lessons from Dandelions

The first talk in Sacrament today was comparing dandelions to people in our walk with Christ. Apparently dandelions are heliotropic. They follow the sun up in the sky through the day. The speaker said this was an example of how we should follow the Son of God in our lives. Dandelions also have a deep tap root. This was an example of how we should stay deeply rooted in The Church. She missed one that I will add for you gentle reader. Every part of a dandelion is useful. So I would say part of the analogy should be that we make all the parts of ourselves useful. I have loved dandelions throughout my adult life and found her talk very stimulating.
