A Hundred Times Soda Fairy
My son has been asking for the soda fairy more and more often. It has started to become excessive so we said no tonight. He’s had three cans of soda and another soda from Culver’s. It’s getting late and he doesn’t need another. He does not take No well and he is not taking it…

Clouds
Ben and I walked to the convenience store again today. The sky looked really weird so I took a couple of pictures. The first is going to the store, and the second is coming back from the store ten minutes later with the camera turned 180 degrees. Sometimes natural art is better than anything I…

Cleaning for my Sons
I just clipped the toenails on my youngest son. But that was the grossest thing I did today. I spent five hours cleaning the computer of another son. The youngest does know how to clip his own nails. His older brother doesn’t know how to clean his browser history. Gross!

Quiet Sunday
I’ve been fairly productive today. I’ve helped keep track of boys and the cats. I’ve helped with laundry. I’ve done my scripture study and hymns. We sold an old phone to be recycled for a whole dollar. I even had time for a shower between video games and social media. Nothing too awesome or weird…

Missionary Visit
A pair of full time missionaries from my ward showed up unexpectedly this afternoon. We talked for about an hour. They’re good “kids.” Twenty somethings. Straight out of Utah. We talk about life, The Church, the church apps, my lack of orthodoxy, and Stephanie’s Druidry. I also tried to explain the “empty holy” to them.…

Diaper, Bath, and Soda Fairy, Please
That is a phrase I did not expect to hear three times a week even a little while ago. Words have power and those were Ben’s words fifteen minutes ago. His dirty diaper is in the trash, his soda is in the fridge, and he is squealing happily in the tub.

Waking Up
When my alarm went off everyone was asleep so I turned it off and went back to sleep myself. An hour later Ben needed a diaper, but I lay back down after that too. The next time I looked at my phone it was two hours later and I was very late getting Alex ready…

Walk in the Park
Ben and I went for a walk today. There is a park about a mile from the house so we walked there. As we were passing through it there were some teenagers on a bench and on the sidewalk. They moved out of the way a little and I went around. One of them asked…

Bed Bugs
Our son William lives in an assisted living apartment building. Someone in the building got bed bugs. This person brought the bed bugs into the laundry room for the building. They closed the laundry room to have it sanitized. William thought he should use a laundromat. Stephanie and I suggested he use our washer and…

Locked Up
It’s Friday night and you know what that means? No one has to go anywhere tomorrow. Well maybe Stephanie will. But I can stay in the house with the children. All the cats are in the house as well though they will probably want to be outside tomorrow. And I have a goal to touch…
