What cities do you want to visit? I like the city I’m in and don’t intend to travel unless my presence is specifically needed somewhere. If I had the right pretext I would like to see Portland Oregon again. I also would kind of like to visit Antonio Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona Spain…

  • I hope I am remembered

Tell us one thing you hope people say about you. I don’t have one thing that people should say about me. I am a complicated and nuanced person. I want to be remembered after my death. I would like to leave a legacy of intelligence and creativity. I would like to be remembered as discerning…

  • First Day At Hardee’s

Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc. I clearly remember my orientation day when I got hired at Hardee’s. It was about and hour and a half of the usual fast food stuff. Expectations, dress code, being told I was required to shave before work. They were…

  • Last Days of Walgreens

I have been off from pharmacy since Friday. I have been more engaged with my family and more productive with my art in that time. I am ready for the year to be over so that I can start on a fresh phase of life. I have six more shifts at Walgreens before I am…

  • I Love The Spotlight

I have been performing since I was five years old in the Christmas pageant as the second king from the Orient. My mom made a cassette tape of that performance and kept it safe for years. I got a converter that turns cassette records into MP3s and have a digital copy of it (Below). I…

  • Exercise and Prayer

My wife is trying to quit vaping. She has gone several days so far. She is doing awesome and I am proud of her for making the commitment. She is also ornery and out of sorts. I asked to take a walk today and do half an hour of uninterrupted prayer. She has for obvious…

  • A Homeless Man’s Chorizo

My homeless friend is visiting this afternoon. He brought a package of chorizo and I’m sharing some tortillas with him. He has a strong spirit if a bit weird. He thinks it’s The Spirit. I’m not so sure. We talk and he talks about trying to cast out his ex-wife’s demons but he is convinced…

  • Admiration

What is something others do that sparks your admiration? I’ve said before here that I don’t like martyrdom. It’s easier to kill and die for one’s beliefs than it is to live for them and let others live for theirs. I admire when people can do the latter peacefully and articulately. I especially admire my…

  • Commissioned Artwork

I made a little money on a special request for my art work. I spent about two hours on the designs and a bit on the Walgreens website ordering prints. Granted my mom is the patron. Still it’s awesome to sell art. Each piece has commercial value beyond the original work. Onwards and upwards.
