I have a sense that every day I can improve and that the struggle to improve is worth it. This very often makes me a contrarian. The struggle is real and swimming upstream (as you will) seems more valuable in improvement because it is more difficult. To some degree this is true because fighting the currents of my life and my thoughts makes me stronger, but I can’t for certain say it takes me to a better place. Perhaps in the end I will reach the wellspring of intelligence or find God in an undeniable way. That is the direction that I hope I am going. But to be honest I won’t know until I get there.
