Latter Day Sinner

I am different from anyone else. That really isn’t saying much since every individual is unique. The question is whether I am more unique. I joked with my dad today that we were embarrassingly white. I remember a joke book that poked fun at WASPs (white Anglo Saxon Protestants). I didn’t realize that all those jokes were about me until well after I left Protestantism. For a white guy I have remarkably little of the privilege that people insist I do. Maybe that’s not all that unique either. My job is out of the ordinary that’s for certain. Your boss probably doesn’t come into your room and hover until you get out of bed and get to work. The fact that I am an anti academic intellectual is also out of the ordinary. But again everyone has things about them that are out of the ordinary. What are some of yours?
