Danny and I were arguing about what makes good fiction. I want it to be fictional. I like stuff that’s campy. I also like fantasy. Wizards, and magic, and out of this world creatures. He’s been trying to sell me on the Keith Ledger Joker for years. The character is gritty, realistic, and certifiably insane according to Danny. He doesn’t understand why that makes me less likely to watch it. I want fiction to be fictional. I want to be obviously suspending disbelief instead of seeing something played as realistic that I know is false. He just doesn’t get that.
