Security

The price of security is vigilance. Absolutely nothing lasts forever. Anything you want to keep you must be willing to defend. And if you defend something well it might outlive you. There’s a promise in Mormonism that with the correct ordinances that family relationships will last beyond death. But they are still maintained with vigilance in this life and into the next life. I do not have an eternal marriage and never have. Perhaps that is why I barely have a marriage at all at this point. Stephanie and I can’t even last “til death do us part” so “time and eternity” will probably forever out of reach.

The other thing I want to outlive me besides family is markezuma. He has a little of a life of his own at this point, but doesn’t live in peoples heads the way I want. In a thousand years if the world has heard of markezuma but can’t quite remember his creators name, I will be fine with that. Or maybe I won’t. Maybe I won’t be anything in a thousand years not even a memory.

All that’s left of this little guy is the photo. The can was recycled a long time ago.

  1. You sacrificed our marriage in defense of Israel. What was the point of that?

    1. Israel is tied up in those covenant promises. But yes choosing between the Israeli government and the Hamas government is a no brainer for me. Those are almost entirely separate issues, but we disagree on both spiritual Israel and literal Israel.

      1. You didn’t choose Israel over Hamas. You have no influence over that. You chose Israel over me.

      2. I would characterize it as choosing the God of Israel over you. He is more reliable than you are.

      3. You didn’t choose to submit yourself to God until after I left and refused to return.

      4. But my feelings about both spiritual Israel and literal Israel were already present at the incident. The God of Israel has always been in my thoughts. You’ve argued that He commanded me to abuse you. I either was or wasn’t submitting to God when I yelled at you to shut up. If I was in submission and commanding you to submit that was before you left. If I was not in submission then Israel and the God of Israel are not on the hook for me being angry and yelling.

      5. You have argued that your act of abuse was obedience to God and therefore justified. I have never claimed God commanded you to abuse me.

      6. I have argued that I didn’t abuse you. I was angry. I triggered your PTSD which I only found out about months later. I didn’t push you and I doubt I even accidentally made contact. We were both yelling in each other’s faces and spit was involved in both directions but I didn’t spit on you. And you got in my face with spit involved on your end not mine when Jim was here. I have not argued that God commanded me to abuse you that is you putting words in my mouth so you can feel justified with your decisions.

      7. You spat on me and pushed me into the fridge. I exemplified the spitting as a demonstration.

This is no longer a discussion. Goodnight.
