The Suit

Stephanie wrote a poem a few months ago about me. I think it is called A Suit of Clothes. It is in her new self published book called Feral and Freaking. Perhaps she will send me the links and I will attach them to this post.

The poem is about her long term mistake that I am a good man. I tell people all the time that the real me is pretty crude and gross. I’m not sure why that has come as a surprise to her just recently. Six months ago she argued that my authentic self was love and light, and that I’ve just forgotten that. Her poem is about how I practice goodness without being good inside. I warn people about that all the time. Apparently that recently became a deal breaker and she needs to divorce the man who knows Pascal’s Wager is solid philosophy. But that’s a post for a different day.

  1. I am divorcing the man that uses his lack of goodness as justification for denying that he physically assaulted me during an argument.

    1. And I am divorcing the woman who claims a yelling match is the culmination of 28 years of abuse.

      1. You used me without thought for 28 years by your own admission.

      2. I tried to do the right thing for you for 28 years. I loved who you were most of that time. I still want you to have the best life you can manage even though it will be without me. You are wrong when you say I can just swap in another woman like we are in the Book of Job. My heart will always be heavy that what I have done for you was never good enough.

      3. You tried to do the right thing for you, which included having a wife you could use. You didn’t even know me for most of that time. I have been sick for most of our marriage. You barely bothered to notice. You knew very little about my health because it didn’t concern you.
