Map Editor

I’ve been playing a lot of Colonization Classic. I like exploring. I like founding new colonies. I don’t like fighting with random maps. Some maps just don’t have enough land. That’s apparent pretty quickly. Some maps don’t have the right diversity of land. That takes longer and more exploration to decide. And some maps after everything is explored don’t have all the native skills to teach my colonists. That is the hardest because I get most invested in games with good land. The skills thing takes a long time to realize and can’t be fixed by being clever. Enter the map editor. I couldn’t find the perfect land today so I tried to make it. My first attempt has proven effective on the first two problems. Sadly I think I need to try harder to tease all the skills out of the natives. That’s still random so I won’t know I have a perfect map until I’ve visited all the villages. Playing God isn’t easy.
