I wrote the bishop of our local LDS ward about what is going on in my life. Divorce is hard. Getting to Sacrament Meetings is hard. But zero beer and THC has been better than using. I’m also not trying to screw around. When the divorce is final I might marry again. But I’m absolutely keeping it in my pants until then. My finances are sound and tithing is wonky but doable. So the two questions on a worthiness interview that are problematic right now are the first one and the last one. I am pretty convinced I know the nature of God and the LDS Church gets some important stuff wrong. That’s the question one issue. I am still fairly convinced that Church worthiness and worthiness before God two entirely separate things and that pursuing the first disregards our hopeless and helpless state when we try to assert to God how worthy we are. That’s the question fifteen issue. It’s always something.
