Another Good Day
I’m good. I didn’t need to get dressed today. I took a shower and got right into clean jammies. William did his laundry this evening. We had hamburgers and shared with my homeless friend Raven. He agreed to do dishes which was helpful. Things are quiet again and I finished my last beer.

Real and Necessary
Today started with a struggle. Stephanie went on vacation and the boys are a handful on my own. But she came home early because she found herself and didn’t like the experience of being completely alone. But the struggle turned into gratitude for each other.

Sacred Texts, Autism, and Anthropology
I believe in a historical Jesus. I am fascinated by the mythical Jesus. I think that the New Testament is the beginning of that myth and that it continues in the Quran and the Book of Mormon. I study sacred texts through a lens of autism and anthropology. I am not an evangelist for my…

Christmas Cynicism

Centipedes
We have centipedes in the basement. I’m pretty sure they help to control the population of smaller bugs. We prefer a few natural predators to poisons and traps. The centipedes fill a niche in the ecosystem of our house. The move around so unlike our dearly departed spider Bob I can’t tell them apart or…

Saving the Earth
There are two kinds of environmentalists broadly speaking. The first group want to save the earth FROM humans. They argue that we are a plague or an infection and that the earth is better off without us. saving the earth FROM humans means letting it go back to it’s natural state before we started exploiting…

Spirit
I’m becoming more solid in my monoaltrism. Human things like father, mother, and child proceed from spirit. I muddle things by using the term Holy Spirit. That is a specifically Christian concept from the Trinity and is only repurposed a little to fit the LDS Godhead. But if our origin is spirit and manifest gods…
