  • What I Know

I am completely convinced about eternal progression. We lived before this life and chose to come here to progress. We learn the lessons of mortality as a form of progression. When we leave here we will learn the lessons of immortality and continue to progress if we choose. As we embrace the divine we become…

  • Another Good Day

I’m good. I didn’t need to get dressed today. I took a shower and got right into clean jammies. William did his laundry this evening. We had hamburgers and shared with my homeless friend Raven. He agreed to do dishes which was helpful. Things are quiet again and I finished my last beer.

  • Real and Necessary

Today started with a struggle. Stephanie went on vacation and the boys are a handful on my own. But she came home early because she found herself and didn’t like the experience of being completely alone. But the struggle turned into gratitude for each other.

  • Me and the Boys

Stephanie is taking a sabbatical this weekend. She is at the Cave of the Mound to be inside the earth. She is probably communing with Heavenly Mother tonight. The boys and I are doing alright without her. The past few times she’s gotten out of the house overnight without us have been in the hospital.…

  • New Year, New Microwave

My life is never dull. Ben started screaming because our microwave did not heat his chicken nuggets. Upon examination the heating element had fail. The timer ran, the light turned on, and the plate spun, but the nuggets came out frozen. He tried several more times to heat them then ate them frozen. That motivated…

  • Sacred Texts, Autism, and Anthropology

I believe in a historical Jesus. I am fascinated by the mythical Jesus. I think that the New Testament is the beginning of that myth and that it continues in the Quran and the Book of Mormon. I study sacred texts through a lens of autism and anthropology. I am not an evangelist for my…

  • Steady Light Snow

It’s been a long day. At about four this morning Ben woke up, got loud, and woke me up with him. I couldn’t get back to sleep with his noise, so I took a hot shower and got into clean jammies. I’ve done most of the things I want to do every day at this…

  • Liminal Time

The space between Christmas and New Years is a strange time in the USA. We have goals that we all put off for next year. We procrastinate our collective salvation. I am drifting. The winter is cold and I’ve got what I need. Stephanie is not quite as liminal as I am. Alex’s day program…

  • Painting

For Christmas my granddaughter sent me an acrylic paint set. It didn’t come with brushes but Stephanie ordered a pack that came today. I am slowly working my way into a space where I can do some actual physical painting. I’ve never made a serious attempt at it before. Wish me luck, and as always…

  • Words and The Word

I got in a short argument with my homeless friend Raven. We were talking about The Book of Mormon, the Bible, and the Quran. He said there is only one word. He wasn’t completely clear but I think he meant that Jesus was The Word. Could have been the Bible since The Word is obfuscating…
